Chinaplas 2018: Coperion smart compounding lines for the Asian market

For the first time at this year's Chinaplas Coperion presents its new compounding lines in best-practice design that are developed with focus on the Asian market. These pre-configured compounding lines marketed as "Smart Compounding Lines" include first-class Coperion and Coperion K-Tron technology for all process steps, from raw material handling to feeders, the Coperion STS Mc11 twin screw extruder and strand pelletizer as well as conveying and bagging solutions. The Smart Compounding Lines are available in different versions, each of them preset for a special plastics processing application.

Coperion's compounding systems have proven successful in the market for many years. With its unique expertise along the entire process chain, Coperion has now developed several pre-configured compounding line designs that take into account the needs and requirements of Asian customers. These lines are configured, completely engineered and verified for different engineering plastics applications such as alloying, flame retardant, glass fiber reinforced and talc filled products with a maximum throughput of 800 to 1,000 kg/h. Technical solutions to meet local requirements and advanced standards for air pollution and noise emission controll can be incorporated.

Based on the extensive know-how collected by Coperion with more than 150 installed compounding lines the focus of the company is on user-friendly design improving the working conditions for the operators. The smart concept comprises a high level of automation with digitalization features and an optimized handling of powders to maintain a clean production area. Furthermore, Coperion offers extensive support for optimal building design which includes all requirements for the logistics of raw and finished good materials as well as space for maintenance.

Customers have only one dedicated contact and supplier – from engineering and production of key components to commissioning of the plant. They benefit from a short time between receipt of the order, production at Coperion, and delivery, followed by a fast start-up at the customer's premises. Additionally, the same capability, functionality and efficiency of an individually designed solution are provided at a lower investment cost. This fact along with the high throughput rates, the return on investment can quickly be achieved. Coperion exclusively uses high-quality, tried-and-tested components – a strategy which results in high process safety and user-friendly system design with consistently good product characteristics and a long service life. Customers in China will also benefit from locally available spare parts avoiding time-consuming and expensive import procedures.
